Volunteers are vital to the work of The Sanctuary.

Giving your time to help us - whether it is hands on with the horses in our care, assisting with our general administration, helping out at events or helping to raise money - you can make a real difference to the lives of the horses in our care.

The Racehorse Sanctuary is a registered charity and is entirely reliant on donations.

Fundraising is essential to our continued existence. We are looking for assistance at events, in sending out special appeals, helping with our stand and 'rattling the collection box' at various Race Meetings. We will shortly be opening our Sanctuary Shop for business and will need help managing merchandise.

These are all essential activities to ensure the Sanctuary raises much needed funds to help rehabilitate, rehome and offer Sanctuary to as many horses as possible.

Are you a 'hands on person'

We are looking for volunteers to work on general maintenance of the yard and stables and to help with the daily tasks at the centre. You would need to be over 17 years of age and we need a comittment of help on a regular basis for a minimum of half a day a week.

For the more experienced horse person, having been assessed by Graham there is the opportunity to work with the more difficult horses both in-hand and in some cases under saddle, this will be under instruction at all times.

The Sanctuary would love to hear from you if you can spare a few hours a day or a few days a week. If you are interested in finding out more about volunteering with us give Graham or Sue a call on (mobile number).

We look forward to hearing from you soon!
