Kilcop House (a.k.a Boysie)

Kilcop House (a.k.a Boysie)

Boysie is a 6-y-o, 16hh dark bay gelding by Carroll House out of a mare named Kilmac Princess. After just three runs under rules with no success he was retired from racing and has been sent to us as his previous owner was finding it very difficult to find the time needed to look after him.

Boysie is a very smart little horse with a very interesting character, as most of the people who help here at the centre will tell you. Under saddle, although he does nothing drastically wrong, you can’t help but feel that you wouldn’t really want to argue with him and much the same applies to working with him in the stable. Boysie can be soft and soppy but he can also be quite aggressive depending on what side of the bed he got up from each morning. When he is nice he is a pleasure to be with, when he is nasty it pays to leave him alone for a while until he has a change of heart.
Boysie is now living up in Scotland with Kimberley and the pair of them simply enjoy long hacks across the Highlands.
