Olympic Express (a.k.a olly)
Olly as he is known is a truly stunning 16.2hh; born in 1998 this black gelding is by Bishop of Cashel out of the mare Rachael Tennessee. After a modest but promising start as a 2-year old, trained by James Fanshaw for Cheveley Park Stud, his career took off as a 3-year old and he was subsequently bought to race in Hong Kong for a new owner, when trained by the late Ivor Allan. Olympic Express won a huge amount of money during his racing career both here in the UK and in Hong Kong; you can see is race record here.
Olly's racing career was brought to a premature end by a serious leg injury, which has now completely healed and he is very sound and well. However, he now sadly suffers from limited sight and whilst he is very at home in familiar surroundings we feel that re-homing him would cause him considerable trauma, hence he will live out his days here at the Sanctuary.
